Si trazas una línea imaginaria por el centro del lunar, las dos mitades no coinciden en tamaño, forma o contorno.

✔ Benign Normal:

Symmetrical, round or oval shape

⚠ Warning Sign:

One half is noticeably larger or jagged

Irregularidad en los Bordes

Los bordes de un melanoma temprano suelen ser desiguales, dentados, festoneados o borrosos.

✔ Benign Normal:

Smooth, sharp, distinct perimeter

⚠ Warning Sign:

Frayed, ragged, or leaking pigment

Variación de Color

Un lunar que presenta múltiples tonalidades (marrón, negro, rojizo, blanco o azulado) es altamente sospechoso.

✔ Benign Normal:

Single uniform brown or tan shade

⚠ Warning Sign:

Mottled colors, jet black or reddish patches

Diámetro Superior a 6 mm

Los melanomas suelen medir más de 6 mm al diagnosticarse (aproximadamente la goma de borrar de un lápiz).

✔ Benign Normal:

Small spot (< 6mm across)

⚠ Warning Sign:

Growing beyond 6mm or larger than other moles

Evolving & Changing

Any change in size, shape, elevation, color, or symptoms (itching, bleeding, crusting) is the single most critical indicator of malignancy.

✔ Benign Normal:

Static appearance month after month

⚠ Warning Sign:

Visible changes over weeks or months
